Impossible to say as we don't know anything about you. Why not ring a few insurance companies, tell them your specifics and ask them for a quote? Then ask your parents to call their own one up, and find out how much it will cost to put you on their policy.

Generally, it will be cheaper to go on your parents policy, but you won't be able to stay on it for ever. The sooner you start an insurance policy in your own name, the sooner you can start building up your own No Claims Bonus which can lead to significant savings over time. If you are on someone elses policy, you can't do that.
