Just bought some tickets for an upcoming game in the aviva, they're in block 107, row C. Anyone sat around that area before for a game??....want to get an idea of how good/bad they will be, and if we'll be able to see the game from there. Ive been to games in the aviva before, but not sitting down that area!!

I have never sat that far forward but I've been about 15 rows back before. You get a good atmosphere and a great sense of the collisions of the game but you'll have to check the big screens if the play moves far away from you as its tricky to figure out whats going on from that low down.

Row C is very far down. IMO rows A to D are too low.

You can get wet anywhere in the Aviva with the very quaint 'holes in the roof gutters' feature that the architects designed in.

Terrible rugby stadium. A decent stadium couldn't have cost much more. Too small, too many bad low seats, a mishmash of a compromise trying to put 2lbs of crap in a 1lb bag.

National Disgrace which sadly we are stuck with. Looks terrible also, like my grandad's greenhouse, too many struts everywhere, the stupid end where struts and posts blend into each other.

Did I mention its a national disgrace?

I don't think it's as bad as national disgrace. I like every seat apart from the lower tier that's too close and low to the pitch. So answer the OP's question - The seats are comfy and fine, but I can't remember how the rows are numbered. If it starts at A once you come out of the tunnel then you'll be fine. If A starts at pitch side then I'm sorry but the view won't be great. However, you'd be quite close to the players so you do get that 'terrace' feel. Last time I sat that close to the pitch the entire front row spent most of the game standing.

MOD WARNING: We've already had a thread closely related to this and it descended into a flame war. So consider this your first and final warning: Any pissing contests based on what you call a stadium won't be tolerated. Grow up. Infractions and bans will follow.

Is an honest assessment of our new stadium not permitted here? How very odd. Is freedom of speech not valued?

The lowest rows in most stadia are less then ideal.

You are quite correct, it is not a problem unique to the Aviva. What was in their bailiwick however was the choice of what level to build the first row of seats.

My contention is simply if there was a genuine interest in making "every seat a good seat" & if they were not as constricted by the lack of available space so having to pour a quart into a pint pot then the stadium would have been developed differently, perhaps the turn through 90 degrees option that I believe was considered and we may have had a better stadium, larger capacity and perhaps a higher starting position for the lowest rows.

What is not in doubt however is that it can produce a great atmosphere as I discovered at the Ulster v Edinburgh semi final when although not full exceeded the atmosphere I experienced at the Italy match a month or two previously. I would imagine that at a Leinster HC match against decent opposition it must be superb.
