Batman Reboot - Fantasy Casting Game

So, a Batman reboot is as inevitable as the sun rising. For giggles, I begin the Fantasy Casting Game!

As many or as few characters as you wish, one pick per character, explanations if you so wish, pretty simple. Go!!!

    Bruce Wayne/Batman - Alexander Skarsgard

The look, can get the build (see True Blood Season No.2), acting ability (Generation Kill), constantly a topic, done.

    Alfred - Iain Glen

Jer in Game of Thrones (Khalessi's minder/guide). Slightly young to be Alfred but more then able to pull off the class and care of the role.

    Commissioner Gordon - Bryan Cranston

Breaking Bad. Disagree and you're wrong.

    Lucius Fox - Ron Glass

Firefly fanboy shout out. Plays wise sage/father roles most times so has the history to do it.

    Vicki Vale - Olivia Wilde

Kim Basinger is Batman's best Bond-girl. Revive the character in a reboot and keep for a series. If she stays around in the shape of the not unattractive Olivia,, it'd be worth it.

    Dick Grayson/Robin - Cam Gigadent

Calm, haters. If he has to be in it Mr. Cam "There's-no-role-I'll-not-do" Gigadent has the experience of damaged/bad-ass/back-up guy from lots of films. Maybe build up to the Robin start over two movies.

    Joker - Mads Mikkelsen

Impossible to beat the Dark Knight's Ledger, but if anyone could have a go it's Casino Royale antagonist. A great mix of all that is threatening in his roles make me think he might manage.

I'd put Brian Cranston as Hugo Strange. He would make a good Gordon though in fairness.

I'd keep expecting Ian Glen to say Khaleesi at the end of every single sentence. :D

The Penguin- Paul Giammati, has the look and is a great character actor

I was going to say Michael Shannon as Two-Face but he is going to be Zod in the Superman reboot so there would be a clash

Bruce Wayne / Batman - Jon Hamm

Off the top of my head...

    Michael Fassbender - Batman\Bruce Wayne

    Bobcat goldthwait - The Joker

    Zooey Deschanel - Harlequin

    Sam Elliot - Gordan

I agree with above for Brian Cranston as Hugo Strange

    Zooey Deschanel - Harlequin
Great casting there and all the better because it'd be cool to see Harlequin in one of the movies.

I'ld rather see him as Clark Kent to be honest

    As would I.

Hamm would be a great Superman, he was rumoured for Man of Steel for a while. He'd actually be great as Bruce too tbh.

Aaron Eckhart has the chin for it.

I picture him doing a close to the story adaptation of Dark Knight Returns.

    Can't imagine that's how it'll be re-booted though.

    Seeing as its fantasy casting:

Wayne/Bats: Michael Keaton. He captured Wayne better than anyone so get him back. Failing that, Bruce Campbell.

Alfred: Michael D. Higgins. Think about it!

Robin: Ryan Reynolds. Cocky and all that.

The Joker: Michael Shannon. Watch the movie Bug and you will see what I mean

The Riddler: David Bowie. Nuff said.

Gordon: Chris Cooper. Great actor with great restraint.

    Penguin: Brian Blessed

I always imagined Unforgiven era Clint Eastwood in that role.

Yeah, except, wouldn't it be Sheldon, playing Sheldon, dressed as the Riddler? Just like it was Jim Carey, playing Jim Carey wearing a Riddler costume.

Cranston already played Gordon in the Batman: Year One animated movie.

Hmmm it's hard to say who I'd like to see as Bruce - Fassbender is a good shout. Villains are easier to think of.

Ben Foster - Victor Zsasz. He plays crazy very well.

    Kevin Spacey - Hugo Strange.

    Gene Wilder - Mad Hatter

Brittany Murphy - Harley Quinn (too late I guess)

Michael C Hall - Has the look of a good Hush about him, although remembering him in that awful "Gamer" film puts me off.

    David Tennant - Riddler.

    Sean Bean - Jim Gordon

Al Pacino - Voice of Scarface for the lulz :pac:

I always thought were it not for Wolverine, Hugh Jackman could have been a pretty good Batman. In fact I almost think he would have been better as Batman than as Wolverine.

Wouldn't mind seeing Daniel day Lewis as the riddler although I think he could pretty much nail any character!!

I wonder whether Nathan Fillion could make a good Bruce Wayne.

Bruce Wayne/Batman: Sam Worthington - Good actor who I think plays good guy role pretty well.

Alfred: Ian McKellen - Going by Micheal Caine's performance, i'd say McKellen could rival that.

Commisoner Gordon: Bryan Cranston - Would definetely agree that he'd be perfect for the role.

Joker: David Tennant - Some people might laugh but I think he did a good job playing Barty Crouch in Harry Potter. If he did something similar but a little more ampted up I say he'd be a great joker.

Catwoman: Jessica Alba - She's got the looks and personality.

Two Face: Michael Fassbender - I reckon he'd do a good job.

Bane: The Rock - Would be different but he's got the muscle and toughness.

Riddler: Simon Pegg - I'd say he could pull it off, plus he's a ginger.

Sam Worthington is a painfully talentless "actor".

I stand by my list  Except maybe Simon Pegg, i'd change the Riddler to James McAvoy. As for Sam Worthington as Batman. I don't know, Batman was the hardest one for me to choose. It's hard to find the right guy to play Batman, because you have to capture the essence with both Bruce and Batman. I threw Worthington out there because I believe he could pull it off.

Ben Foster is another who could play Riddler imo

Sorry but Sam Worthington could not play Bruce Wayne he has no charisma imo

If anyone watches the tv show Suits I think Gabriel Macht could play Batman and Bruce Wayne

Hugo Strange - Robin Williams. Ever since i saw the fan trailer that had the clips from One Hour Photo, i believe he could pull off the role perfectly.
