Ok lads with the brutal weather out there I am thinking of getting a trainer. Why are people telling me not to put a carbon bike on a trainer?

I would be curius about this aswell as my only bike apart from an old bangor i have which is not suitable for Turbo training is a full carbon bike and would not want to get it destroyed. Cant afford another bike due to space. I suppose a sweatband would be the 1st vital purchase

It can put a lot of strain on the bike. Carbon whilst strong, is stong where it supposed to be. You put a lot of force laterally through the stays on a turbo.
Roller are more fun, and the cyclops comes with a resistance unit.
I know a guy who snapped an sworks on a turbo so it does happen.
Most frames are not warranited for it also.

if in doubt contact the manufacturer there should be no reason why you cant use a carbon bike on a turbo trainer. .
