    Renault Clio 2000 1.2

I failed my NCT today with the fault being:

Steering Linkage (43), Rack & Pinion (Worn), Nearside front.

The NCT printout says worn but i could've sworn the mechanic said "badly bent" - he was a little hard to understand.

Does anyone have any idea what this might cost to repair or replace? I'm quite worried about this as i have a feeling the repair / replace might cost more than the value of my car.

It may only be an inner tie rod, certainly wouldn't be more expensive then the car to repair.

You'd be as well have it checked properly to see what they are on about and get a quote then.
