I'm on the pill and finished this months course 4 days ago, no sign of my period yet. I'm not very regular as it is but I'm freaking out as I had sex 18 days ago and maybe its just me being paranoid but I don't feel the usual discomfort before my period leading me to worry that its not going to come! I hope I'm just being paranoid!

Is this your first month on the pill?

I usually wouldn't get my period until nearer the end of my 7 day pill free break so I wouldn't be too worried yet. If you took your pill exactly how you should and were not on antibiotics at any time during the month which could have affected it I don't think you should worry too much yet.

no i've been on the pill for years now, changed brands a few months ago and also had suspected ovarian cyst back in April so i'm hoping that may have knocked it off track a bit. I also ran two courses of it together due to being on holidays so maybe that might cause my period to be a bit later than usual? :/

Yeah I would say that running two packs back to back without a break may have interfered with your period most likely. I haven't experience of doing this myself so I can't be sure but I would guess that that may have interfered with your hormone levels and had a knock on effect on the timing of your period.

Running two courses together does interfere with your period. I have done this and only got "spotting" after the second course. I read the leaflet and it said you can sometimes not have anything until you take the break and go back on and finish the next course. I used to get my period around 2-3 days after finishing a course, now similar to the other poster, around 7 days. It would be so much easier to get a 28 day pill rather than dealing with this! I friggin hate phantom pregnancies (my name for when you're so convinced you're pregnant, but at the same time, not convinced, but then thinking no yeah I am. It's terribly scary)

    Best of luck OP! :)

Do a test and put your mind at ease OP! Its unlikely you are pregnant if you took it as you are supposed to, weren't sick etc, but you are only going to worry until you get your period so just go get a test for your own sanity :)

best thing to do is take a test.
Another thing - being stressed causes your period to delay.

This is very true. The more you stress over this, you are more likely to delay your period even further so it's no harm to take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease :)

Glad you're ok, OP (pain aside of course!)

As your issue has been resolved, I'll lock your thread now.

    All the best,
