Is it normal for UK garages to accept an Irish Registered car in respect of a trade-in?

Also the speedometer and odometer are in Kilometres, will this likely to be an issue for a UK dealer?

They'd give you less than for an equivalent UK car (because it's a PITA for them), which is in turn less than an ROI tax paid car is worth. So perhaps, but you'd want to be real stupid. :)

most dealers would scoff at paddy spec cars, you should sell in Ireland.

Some UK and NI dealers will take trade-ins of Eire reg cars. Usually they will ring their cotacts in Eire and get a bid on your car from a trade buyer. They then allow this on your car on a trade-in. If you go ahead with the deal then the car immediatly is sold on to that southern dealer.

More likely to happen for NI dealers than UK dealers as the NI guys are more likely to have contacts in the south.
