And that diff is soo small that you wouldnt even notice. The diff is academic, I mix oils all the time, and to the normal driver with a normal powered car it wont make an iota of difference, as long as ther is enough oil in the car, and its not completely burned it will be fine

Yeah it is a great deal.. Think I've still 3 of them at home from last time so mightn't bother! Only time I ever buy oil is during these promo's! Nice and frequent!

Thats total bollox. The oil he is on about is fully synthetic hence the dear price. You cannot mix different grades of oil or you risk fcuking up your engine..

How long does oil last i.e does it has a shelf life?

Thinking of stock up here. My car takes 4.5l so will have to buy 2 of these. So might as well buy 3 and have enough for 2 oil changes, and top-ups.

It does have a shelf life but its sufficiently long that you'd want to be a serious hoarder for it to be a problem, most manufacturers quote 5 years for appropriately stored closed containers, lube oil and its additives can oxidize not a problem under the ground for the last few millenia. HDPE containers are suprisingly permeable to gas and vapour. That being said I probably wouldn't think twice about shakeing up and using oil up to 8-10 years as long as it was properly stored.
