Galway to Limerick train failure?

The Galway to Limerick train service, which cost over €100million to rebuild, only attracts an average of 95 passengers per day.

Surely this service is not cost effective and will face the axe?

Reading your link to that Limerick paper, it does sound very low with only 95 passengers.

The train takes two and a quarter hours, while a road trip can take a little over an hour.

I suppose this plays a big part, and buses being cheaper too.

giving the fact that this editor claims Noel Dempsey it launching the WRC train in the picture - which is taken at Connolly, it doesn't give a great start to it at all
