This is probably a euphorbia -- they seed everywhere but can easily be killed/sprayed etc. If you break a leaf etc does a white sap appear?
If so, it is euphorbia but beware --- that white sap can cause blisters, esp in bright sunlight. You should always wear gloves etc when dealing with them and keep children well away from it too.

Yeah wasn't sure if it was from the euphorbia or not they come up easy enough! Would not allowing the main plant to flower stop the spread?

Yes - that will work because it spreads by seed - provided you can be sure you'll get all of the flowers before they seed etc.

There will be a residue of seeds for a while but they will die out in a year or so and you can restrict it to one plant in the garden.

So that's what's been trying to take over my garden this year!
