Me and the gf are just back from a week in Madeira and we loved it. We're the same age group as you. More of an older crowd and families there but at the same time you won't feel out of place. Nice and chilled out place. Beautiful island. The only downside is there are very few beaches. But there are many other things to do. It's cheap also. Flight was only just over 3 hours direct from Dublin. If you need more info just let me know.

you can't go wrong with the algarve either. flights to faro are 2hrs 40 minutes from dublin. fly aerlingus or ryanair for about 150each and then pick your hotel / self catering apartment...my own favourite is albufeira!
