Hi guys, just doing some market research for a college project and I am trying to find out roughly how much money roughly is spent in car care products and where do you mainly source them IE. online or highstreet stores like halfords.

Coming from a car enthusiast myself I am interested in finding out the results.

    Thanks for any reply's.

In the first year I got into Detailing I spend about 1k on a new power washer, snowfoam lance, machine polisher, pads, polish, wax, microfibers, etc, etc.
Then about 250 - 350 depending on what new products took my fancy, which I NEEDED to try :p ()....less now, as Ive tried alot of products and know which ones work best for me....so about 200 keeping things topped up or trying one or two new products!

I bought Irish, from Detailing suppliers (not your avg high street shop like Halfords, or the local motor factors) when I was a regular customer - buy trade now! ;)

What about yourself HJ, how much do you spend?

    Recession has hit hard :D

I use to spend probably 200+ a year myself on cleaning products. I think focusing on college has been one of my biggest priorities over the last year so I have kind of stepped back from all that a little. Still have a keen interest in detailing though.

    Thanks for the replies lads.

Just started to get into detailing this year and so far I have spent about €200-€250 (in shops and a UK supplier). but I'm keeping my eye on the pennies so I can to afford to stay in college :p

I'll put it to you this way - my main expense is petrol, my second expense is detailing/valeting gear :D

I spend far too much money on this... :o
The biggest hit is obviously getting the products and equipment first which is in the very high hundreds.
But now its only replacing the things that run out which is very manageable indeed, as most things last a long time :)
