Gary Hyde had him in court yesterday and won his case against Riggo preventing him from taking part in any fight not sanctioned by Hyde
Riggo was to have been on the Martinez v Chavez bill in Las Vegas promoted by Top Rank,Hyde claims he never wanted to go to court but it was forced on him and also claimed he has other lucrative offers for Riggo

Hyde is his manager. You can't 'make' a fight and by-pass the manager. Simple as.

Rigo comes across like another greedy but stupid Cuban defector. Wonderfully talented though and I hear Hyde has something really juicy lined up as well.

Get the feeling that Rigo's career will end up being 'what could have been'.

    I think you are right

This is second time at least Gary Hyde has had to go to court to get him fighting who Gary wants him to fight

At this point time must be running out on the contract and also on rigondeaux, he may be excellent, best ever amateur but time stops for no man.

He is 31 and barely fighting 3 fights a year if even that. he is also not fighting for big titles or big money so he would want to pull the plug out and let Gary get him the lucrative fights or he will be retired with very little to show for it except a mouth bar of gold around his teeth

That seems to be the problem though isn't it, few people want to take him on as its too risky and the pay day not big enough

whats the story with Perez anyone hear anything?

Haven't seen perez on a fight card for over a year, that is another Cuban who will end up a never was

The one thing about perez though is two or 3 good fights as a heavyweight and he will be in the big money scene which will not be the same for rigondeaux

Of them all I thought Garcia was the better boxer and I thought of the 4 cubans gary originally had he would be the one with the world title but he hasn't boxed for a while either

Rigondeaux v Poonsawat being discussed for December 15th - http://www.boxingscene.com/rigondeaux-vs-poonsawat-play-december-15th---58851

Potentially on the undercard for Donaire-Arce, which would suggest Donaire v Rigondeaux could be next if they both win.

Rigondeaux is, IMO, the most overrated fighter in boxing today. If he fights Donaire he will get KTFO.

I am not saying that won't happen, but Rigo is one hell of a stylist. He's not going to be easily dominated by anyone at the weight. He's a veteran with so much guile, skill, fluidity and slickness. The man knows how to handle himself inside that squared circle.

Doesn't look like Rigo is going to be facing Poonsawat. Little known Filipino Drian Francisco (23-1) looks set to be his opponent instead.

Issues smoothed out and Rigondeaux-Poonsawat is done for December 15th.

Excellent clash of styles here. Rigo will be made to work here. PK only knows one way to fight. Forward and throwing shots. He has a fairly solid chin and body. so I cannot see Rigo dropping or stopping him. I would go with Rigo via close points win.

Really excited about this fight, boxing seems to be picking up a bit recently... some very good match ups

Impressive win for Abner Mares on Saturday night. Overwhelmed the very slick Anselmo Moreno. Wants Donaire but we're unlikely to get it with this Top Rank-Golden Boy crap.

Gary Hyde has been calling out Frampton and Quigg on twitter this morn saying Rigo will come to Belfast to fight Carl.

    Too early for both obviously.

Neither of them will ever beat Rigo.(Maybe when he's shot or fights on too long theres a chance) but he will always be on a completely different level to Frampton and Quigg. He'd dismantle both of them in the same night.

He must be struggling to make fights if the champion is having to call contenders out.

Certainly looks that way. I think the contenders realise they don't stand a chance being honest.

Should have a Rigo vs Donaire II. What do you guys think?

    Same result.

The offer seems to be Frampton - Rignodeuox in Belfast in September. I think Carl would be stopped or else lose a wide decision. There is no way he can win this fight imo.

No, just looking for a couple of easy pay days.

Word is HBO have very little interest in him. He could be scratching around for a while.
He has very quickly established himself in the 'Who Needs Him? Club'. Apart from fighters breaking the usual boxers code by actually saying they don't want to fight him because he's so good, others are probably wary of fighting him because they'll be put on an undercard despite facing one of the pound for pound best fighters in the world. It probably makes more sense business-wise for Donaire and Darchinyan to face each other than for either of them to face Rigondeaux.
I think his position could put him in a counter-productive situation whereby he needs to go looking for people to fight giving them extra bargaining power. He needs them more than they need him right now. Fighters should be queuing up to fight the best man in the division leaving him holding the aces.

Class Rigo training video ahead of the Agbeko clash.

Rigo and Pedro Diaz is such a brilliant fighter-trainer match up. Gotta respect those Cubans.

Sad to see that HBO don't have an interest in showing this guy when they've been happy to hype a stack of Berto fights
