hey, I got a filling a few years ago when I was a kid. A few weeks ago the very tooth started hurting, and I can feel something on the bottom of my tooth with the tip of my tongue. I was too afraid to check but did yesterday and the tooth is blue/black on one side and the bottom. Im so freaked by this. Will I most likely have to get it pulled. Only that tooth is sore and looks decayed, I will go to my dentist, but Im terrified to be honest. Its in a visible enough position and having it pulled terrifies me. Is there anything else besides pulling that could be done.

No one can be sure, you need to get to a dentist asap, delaying only means that if there is a chance of saving it, the chance may be getting smaller the longer you leave it.

i agree get to your dentist immediately, nobody likes going that is for sure, but you will be glad you went once its all over, you have to take that step if you think you can save your tooth,if it is the worst possible news extraction(people have died from this),dont worry too much as a lot of oral surgeons and dentists give antibiotics and painkillers(that being honest dont really work too well)but its a lot better than letting an abcess form and getting blood poisionin septisemia, that is FAR worse and you die roaring in pain.So its a a tough call but i think in the long run you will have to do this.
I have two extractions ahead of me after two before and im dreading it the horror im facing the trauma, the pain but if you come out of it alive it will be the best feeling in the world knowing you wont have to face it for a while. As you get older your teeth give you trouble, they can pain ache, form abcesses, decay you name it and you have to get on top of it or it could kill you.
Think of the days when there were no dentists no physicians and no knowledge of teeth most people would have died in their late 20's due to their teeth giving them trouble.
    Thankfully we have dentists.
