I'm looking to purchase a used Volvo XC60.

I'm interested in a manual D5 2.4L diesel AWD model. I recently went to test a drive one locally and was very surprised when the dealer told me that the road tax for it is €660 per year. I thought it was in band C for €330 per year.

    According to this (official?) document

    http://www.volvocars.com/ie/all-cars/Documents/xc60pricelist.pdf

on page six it states that the model I'm interested in has CO2 emissions of 149 g/km which is band C @ €330

I take it the dealer is just wrong?

Also the one I'm interested in is a 09 vehicle here

    is 77,671 M / 125,000 KM very high for a 3 year old diesel?

Thanks in advance for any input.

The price guide you've linked to is the 2012 price guide. You are looking at a 2009 model and CO2 emissions have dropped quite a lot since then.

25,000km a year sounds fairly average nowadays.

    Is 2012 a new model?

    Is 2012 a new model?

Same model, but engine changes brought the emissions down. CO2 emissions for the Model Year 2009 XC60's were 199 for the manual (219 for the Auto). That's now down to 149g on the Manual and 179g for the auto on the new D5 models.

Probably a few specification changes since the 09 version to the new model as well, but no exterior styling changes.

I've attached the 09 pricelist for the XC60 which gives a full run down on the specifications for each model. The D5 version was a bit more powerful than the 2.4D model if I remember correctly, even though emissions and consumption are the same.
