Spray painting a car advice please

    I own a Renault Megane HB, in which there is scratch marks over the back wheel arch.
    I have attached a picture of a car which is similar to mine J, to show the shape and area that needs attention.

    I have sprayed panels of cars before but i never had to blend in the paint and the lacquer.

    I was wondering could I get some advice in hot to blend in the new paint after I sand/fill the damaged area.

    I assume sand the whole panel with 1000grit touch up the area that has being repaired, and blend the paint into the surrounding panel.

    Then for the Laquer I would like some advice as to how to blend the old laquer into the new, I tried it once before on a car however there was a noticeable line from the masking tape.

    A do I need to thin the Laquer down and apply where the new laquer meets the old?
    Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

    So from the car below I assume I will finish the laquer on the narrow part of the pillor towards the back of the car, where the side window finishes
