IMPORTANT INFO NEEDED - CAP2 exemptions deloitte

Hey guys, I was just wondering something. I'm doing a masters in accounting at the moment, just finished my exams. I have all my CAP2 exemptions except for tax. Will I still be able to take the job?

The only requirement I can find is that it says I need a 2.2 (which I have). Is it possible to start the job without all the CAP2 exemptions?

I don't really want to ring them just yet.

    Thanks!:D

Is it that you failed your tax exam and are worried that you failed/will fail the repeat? I could be wrong here but I thought the requirement to get CAP 2 exemptions from an MACC is that you graduate from that masters which wouldn't be the case of you failed an exam.

Well see I passed the exam (over 40%) so I will graduate. I just didn't get the required 50% mark for the exemption

Then I've no idea tbh. I would've assumed that the pass rate for the exams would be set at 50% but if the institute are willing to grant you exemptions in the other 3, then it'll be down to the firm to decide if they want to take you on.

    I'd do the following:

    1. Sit the repeat to try and get the exemption - not sure if you've already sat it.

    2. Contact the college to see if this has happened before and what the usual outcome is.

    3. Contact the institute to ensure that you will actually be exempt from the other 3.

    4. Contact whatever firm you're supposed to be starting with to see what they say.

I'd do it in that order but try to get them all done as quickly as possible.
