Moving back to Ireland from the North.

Can anyone tell me who I need to contact in revenue to apply for the exemption letter?

I'm still in the North so cant call in to any of the offices, they're not answering e-mails and the only numbers I can see are 1890 (which cant be dialed from outside Ireland).

    Thanks,

You have to go to the local revenue office (to where you are going to live) and they will probably ask for bank statements, rent / mortgage receipts, other proof of where you were living, proof that you have owned the vehicle for more than 6 months (insurance,vr5 etc) then presuming you qualify, they will issue you with a new log book & licence number then you can tax the vehicle here and there will be a note on the "log book" stating the vehicle cannot be sold (before ??/??/????) without prior permission from revenue, i think it is 12 months from the import date

Just in case, be aware that studying abroad does not qualify you for the Transfer of Residence VRT exemption.
