My interview for a PLC is tomorrow???

I have always wanted to do Photography, but since I could not get into the work for the leaving Cert for certain reasons, I chose to do a PLC instead first and then head into college using that. I'm gonna live with my sister in carlow for the year because I want to do it in Carlow IFE or Ordmonde.

But in Carlow it is Media Production and Photography, and Ordmonde are not doing it anymore so I applyed for Media Studies instead. So my interview for Carlow is 2moro and I am freaking out!!

I mena how much should you know when u go this type of interview? Il be honest, I know how to capture certain scenes and what colour filters to edit them with on sites like Pixlr, but that is all! Like I really don't know any of the technical stuff, like what type of lenses, or zooms, or any of that type of stuff. I only really know like Macro and Panorama, and Parorama is something I still can't master.

As for media production? I am really hoping it is something i can get into because I havent done much research into it, and would really know what to say about it.

But photgraphy is something I like doing in my spare time, so I will be willing to obviousy learn the difficult parts for it, since I know nothing comes easy in college, and anyway it might be easier than school since it is only one subject to learn. I just hope the person who is interviewing me realises that.

Please help me, I really need advice coz I really want to get into carlow

The very fact that you are aware that there are different types of lenses and you want to know how to use them is a good start. There are things like depth of field and rule of thirds - show your sample photos and talk about the things that you can see could be improved and how you would like to know how to do them.

The stuff about uploading pictures and putting filters on them etc comes into Multimedia Production. MP is a fairly loose description that covers aspects of producing images, films, a bit of non-digital work (producing work for print rather than digital), general design skills etc. There is no harm in concentrating on the photography angle but show that you are aware of the place of photography in the wider area of multimedia production.

They want to see you are serious about doing the course, want to learn and will give it your best shot.

The fact that you are willing to move to do the course is a big plus I would say.

i dont know anything about the course but make sure you know a little about the college and the course. I had an interview there last year and they asked me a good few questions on subjects and stuff
