Wisdom teeth

Hi, two months ago I decided to go to the dentist about my wisom teeth as I was experiencing alot of pain. It was my first time going to this dentist and she decided to do an x-ray.
After the x-ray she said that there was enough room for the wisdom teeth and they will come up perfectly. She recommended to just take over the counter pain killers which is what i've been doing.

I'm experiencing pain again more intensely over the last few weeks so I'm wondering should I go to a new dentist or return to the last one?
Is it possible to get the x-ray results from the dentist I went to last? are they my property?

I don't want to fork out 2 weeks wages again for the same prognosis as I'm a student so I can't afford it.

I'd appreciate any advice you may have. Also it may be important to mention that I have overcrowding and have been told I need to visit an orthodontist when I have the funds.

make sure you make saving up for the dentist your priority as its your teeth, you may need to think about dental insurance as well, its 11 euro a month on vhi dental google it and look it up,its something i will have to do at some point too.

i have extractions looming over me ,some people have died from extractions and im dreading this as i now know the horror of it,my teeth at the back have never been filled,i had two side impacted ones and two ones now giving me pain,so if the pain doesnt go away,go back to the dentist as it could be something more serious like an abcess.. good luck!

I'd go to another dentist. If your own dentist is wrong and they do need to come out then you could be causing yourself hassle later in life by keeping the teeth. There's a lot of nerves around your jawline and you dont want to risk something affecting them. I hate having to fork over a fortune to just get things checked but maybe it'd be for the best, especially if the pain is getting worse.

I would try another dentist. Dentists differ & molars melt. Ask friends, colleagues for name of good ones in your area.

For future readers who might find themselves in a similar situation, here’s some guidance based on the concerns raised:

If you're experiencing pain after being told your wisdom teeth have enough room, it’s worth considering a follow-up. Over time, teeth can shift or grow in ways that weren’t initially expected. Pain is your body’s way of signaling that something may need attention.

    1. X-Ray Records: Yes, X-rays are part of your medical records, and they belong to you. You can request a copy from your previous dentist. This can save you from paying for another set of X-rays if you choose to consult a new dentist.
    2. Reassessment: If pain persists or worsens, a second opinion can be valuable. Wisdom teeth don’t always follow predictable patterns, and overcrowding might add complexity to the situation.
    3. Cost Concerns: For students or anyone on a tight budget, look for dental clinics offering student discounts, payment plans, or affordable care options.
    4. Overcrowding: Future orthodontic work might help in managing your dental alignment, but wisdom teeth causing pain now might need more immediate attention.

For anyone reading this down the line, if pain recurs or intensifies, don’t delay seeking help—it’s always better to address dental issues early rather than let them escalate.

two weeks wages ? What bloody dentist did you go too ? I would get a second opinion. Not sure where you are based but my dentist is in ballyfermot they are amazing and never over charge. Mine had no room to come down and I was referred onto a specialist to have them out but you can have them out if they are causing pain might cost a pretty penny though mine was mostly covered under my health insurance had to cover the cost of sedation myself which if I remember was €250 on its own.

The OP hasn't been active since 2014 so I suspect you're shouting into the void there. This is an ancient thread resurrected by a bot. It's rampant in this forum lately.
