Hospitals won't take back drugs AFAIK. My dad had some really pricey drugs left over after cancer treatment and he was told to bin them, it nearly killed him as they were syringes of drugs costing about 1600euro each, but the hospital said they'd not way of checking if they were ok to use (eg stored correctly) so out they went. Shocking waste of money.

Bring them back to a pharmacy and they can dispose of them properly.
