So I had a 2 way toll of 6 euro to pay by 8 pm today. I almost forgot but couldn't get near internet until 10 pm which was when I paid it.
Are they going to throw the book at me or do they have any flexibility at all about this ? Any views ?

You know it's 8pm the following day I assume?

    How strict is a computer??;)

Some of the telephone people are ok and are actually "human".:).

Others really do go by the letter of the law with regards the 8pm thing.

PS-Just say that your internet connection was down,or the local shop with "paypoint" was closed early.

They're not strict at all, I've forgotten to pay tolls before and paid it 2 days late. Never heard anymore about it

perhaps a stupid question, I havent been out of Dublin in a while and are there signs saying you about to go through a toll fee are or what?

They are strict but if you give them a ring and its the first time you have forgotten they will usually write the fine off. I always forget and last time i ended up paying 92euro for a two way journey.

I have forgot to pay on a few occasions, maybe 6 times in the last 2 years :o
Most recent the weekend of 6th Aug (BH Weekend), i paid at 9.26pm the following day and i havent received a fine yet.

Every time i paid in and around the 9pm mark, i never got a fine from them.

When I've forgotten I just pay it online and ignore the warning message saying not to pay if you are late . Have never received a fine for being a day or two late.

Why would you ever want to leave Dublin, Truman?

Yeah I know, it sounds a bit ridiculous after typing that, but the other day I took a misturn when looking for homebase in blanch and slipped out of dubling for about a min or so before having to turn back to find homebase

The only barrierless (that I know of) one is on the m50 between the Galway and Cavan exits (n3 and n4) where the toll plaza used to be. The ones down the countries have barriers, you won't drive through them without noticing :)

    Hi guys,

The deadline for payments is before 8pm the day after the journey was made. After which a €3.00 late payment penalty can be applied.

    To avoid late payment penalties:
    • Setup a Video Registered account (M50 only)
    • Setup a Tag account (all tolls)
    • Pre-pay for your journeys
Payments can be made by a variety of methods:
    • Through the web at www.eflow.ie
    • Via the call centre at 1890-50-10-50 (7am to 11pm 365 days/yr)
    • International numbers UK/NI 0845-30-15-405 Int +800-50-10-50-11
    • Via phone after hours on 1890-50-10-50 UK/NI 0845-30-15-405 Int +800-50-10-50-11
    • At a Payzone outlet (find yours at www.payzone.ie)
The best, simplest and cheapest options are the Video/Tag accounts. If you use the M50 the odd time, go Video, if you use the M50 3 times a month or more, go Tag (tag costs €1.23/month but you will save €1.00 per toll)

    Hope this helps,

    John
