I'm going through my wardrobe and am donating some stuff to charity. I've old magazines I was going to put in the bin but though a charity shop might get money for them. Do they take old magazines?

I doubt it, who'd pay money for old magazines? You should just bin them...in the green bin if course :p

I bought one for 40c in a charity shop. If they sold each magazine I give them for 40c the would make a good few quid! I'll ring them Saturday morning before I leave the house.

Not every charity does. And even of the charities that do accept them, it's usually on a store to store basis, as far as I know. But do ask anyway because worse case scenario, they can get some cash for recycling them :D

My mum loves buying magazines from charity shops so some must take them! Oxfam maybe?

If you give them to a charity shop that works with something like a hospital or a refuge they might find a home in a common room or waiting room (as long as they're not really old or the kind of magazines that only really make interesting reading in the week they're out)
