Do you need to have lived here for 18 months prior to applying for the IEC?

it doesnt really matter anymore....all the IEC visas for 2012 are gone.
The program will start back up again at the end of the year and will probably have a whole different set of rules.

I spent last year in Australia so could be disqualified if this is the case. Anyone got any solid info on this? Thanks.

Edit: It says you need to be here for 3 years on the IEC site but I've heard 18 months quoted by a friend of a friend that was rejected this year during the application process.

And just to clarify it was 18 months cumulatively. Not consecutively in the last 3 years. so if you were in oz for a year. And we're not residing outside of Ireland for 6 months or more anywhere else since 2009 you would have been fine.
