had a few of them myself over the years.

A hackney company ran a fleet of these in Cork City around 1986 registered in sequence 1 UZK to 25 UZK inclusive if my memory serves. I wonder have any of these survived?

Lol, We had 898UZK, not a Toyota tho.

Most were DX's ( De luXe ? ), Gardai had DE's ( Deleted Equipment ? ) and towards the end there were LE's (Luxury Equipment ?)

I had an 1987 "LE". Thought it was fantastic - it had a sunroof, the first car I had with a sunroof. Other differences were colour coded bumpers & fance wheel trims. Yhink the seats had different upholstery but not sure if there were any other differences. The only car I've driver in 30 years of driving where the brake pedel went straight to the floor when I pressed it - some fright but thankfully nothing in front of me.. Think it was seals in the master cylinder.
