While there is obvious problems with taking any single factor to imply that climate change is definitely happening it does look like a worrying trend.

Will the further retreating ice have any knock on effects? Or is this actually a cause for celebration for shipping companies worldwide?
Arctic sea ice looks set to hit a record low by the end of the month, according to satellite data.

Scientists at the US National Snow and Ice Data Center said data showed that the sea ice extent was tracking below the previous record low, set in 2007.

I dont think anyone can say that they fully understand the immense complexity of an entire planets climate and the input of every varibable. If we could then there would be no 'debate' and the matter would be decided.

However, what we can say is that is doesn't make any sense to emit so much CO2 when we cannot predict the effects and it could 'appear' to be detrimental to our environment which mean us. I would hedge my bets either way and cut back. Who wants to look their children in the eye and tell them that the planet is dying because we were so stupid as to pollute and contaminate the very ecosystem we depend on?
