Netbook has issues connecting wirelessly since Sunday

    Folks.

My brother tried to connect to his UPC broadband connection wirelessly on Sunday. He has had no problem connecting since he got his netbook last year but this time around even though the netbook said it was connected he could not get onto the internet.

I had a look at it today and rebooted the router, tried various troubleshooting solutions in the network and sharing centre on the Control Panel (Windows 7 netbook) but the issue is still there. I think it is something to do with the available wireless networks that are available. If you look at the attached picture the netbook is connected to UPC but further down the list there are 2 Other Network options and one of those had a yellow shield beside it.

I figure if this Other Network can be removed the problem might be resolved but I cant seem to remove it. I would really appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

had similar issue with ups router (cisco) with all wireless devices connected to it. What I did was to change the channel that the wireless is broadcasting on. it may take a number of tries to find the best channel to use. I'd also suggest going to the network centre on the pc and forgetting or removing all of the other networks not in use.
