Science question involving coolant through a motor vehicle

    Hi all,

    Not sure exactly where to be posting this at all. But have a problem question for my study. Here it is: Coolant is passed through a motor vehicle radiator at a rate of 28 litres per minute. The coolant enters the radiator at a temperature of 95 degrees celcius and exits at 75 degrees celcius. If the specific heat capacity of the coolant is 4.2kJ/kgK, determine the quantity of heat given up to the cooling air per minute. ( take the value of the relative density of the coolant as 1)

    Any help with the above would be much appreciated

    I'll do it for you now. Will do it in MS Word and past in here.

    28l = 28kg due to relative density of 1

    Heat = mc(change in temp.) = (28)(4200)(20) = 2352000 joules per minute

    Here you go! Neodymium did it while I was having my dinner!
