    Hi,

I'm looking to buy elec gate kit , I found this set up including a free intercom. Is it worth it , good value or should I steer clear .

I'm open to all options and welcome any advice to do with choosing an elec gate kit.

I would like a function in the control of the gates that allows me to leave the gates open constantly if I so choose.

I have got my poly poly cable and electrical supply at the gate area but other than that I have nothing started . Foundations going in next week .

My brother is an experienced spark so he'll be doing the wiring and set up.

    Cheers.

all domestic electronic gates have the optioin of being left open.

the ram or the underground ones
there is usually a key to operate this option.

or if the kit does not have this feacture just open the gates with the remote and then pop the power off at the control box.

or many people open the gates and cover one of the photocells with something. It then "thinks" that a car has stopped 1/2 way in so the gates stay open.

    yet thats what i do,

i have a phone with a half and fully open button, if i want the gate to stay open in either position i cover the sensor.

    that kit looks good

it is even pre wired an prob set up with remote and all to save ye a bit of agro..

with gates i wood look at the set up for the opening and closing of the gates and make sure it looks like a well built one...

it is very easy to replace the control side of things but the motor and arms are a different story...

    hope this helps:)

I have a bft overground kit. Well made, with a good control panel which gives many options and is, easy to program.

Also have an act5entry intercom system. Again, a well made pieced of, kit. The intercom gives the option of keeping your gates open by keeping button held for 5 seconds, no messing with photocells our turning off power. I'm sure other intercoms will do this too.

All in all, the BFT kit and the ACT intercom seems to work well!!!!
