Another "Wife pregnant what car?" thread

    Hello All

Sorry to have to do this to you all again :)

But my wife is pregant at the mo and her much cherished hyundai coupe must go.

I am looking at a budget of around 8-9K cash after we off-load the coupe (based on minimum trade in value or selling it).

We already have a diesel and her commute when she goes back is not long so we are going for a petrol. i think anything up to 1.8 would be fine for tax and insurance. I would prefer 1.6 but will go up for a nice model. Would like to get a 2007 or 2008 if possible.

So we have the following suspects in mind.

    Ford Focus 1.4 or 1.6
    Mazda 3
    Volvo S40
    Astra

but lately I have been looking at Mazda 6s and really like the look of them.

How do the 1.8 petrols rate - they seem to be free of the diesel issues.

Any thoughts appreciated. or any other models?

A 1.8 petrol 6 would be very reliable and great value but rust is a problem
