I have a NH TS 90 tractor rated approx 80 HP PTO ,Considering buying a conditioner mower a dealer is recommending a 9 ft kuhn 283 TG trailed i feel a mounted 9 ft would be heavy, any one have any experience of this machine thanks

Think you might be a bit underpowered for a 9 foot
mower with conditioner 100hp would be needed me thinks:)

You should be ok once you have flat enough ground

you will be fine out. sure all you have to do is keep going down the gears. you will be able to go as fast as the rest on flat and down hill but might might be down a good bit coming up a hill.

A 80 hp tractor with a 9 foot moco mounted on the linkage would be madness.
OK in the field maybe but a different story on the roads. it will be all over the place unless you're going to crawl along!

thanks for youre reply,of course the dealer tells me that i will have no problem just take it slow, at the moment i mow with a kv 8 ft disc 4 ac per hr easy , with the conditioner i would be quite happy with 2 ac per hr, do you know about malone 960c what are they like ?

I changed from a 9 foot taarup to a 10 foot kuhn and find the kuhn far harder to drive have 125 hp in front of it.

the 10 ft is the fc 302 model, there is a kuhn 283 tg is 9 ft they claim its easier to pull, why the change to kuhn ?

I have worked a lely 320mc on a same leapord 85 on The country every Summer this year I Will use a 100hp tractor only because I sold The 85. Mower is The easiest worked impliment apart from wrapper you don't need big hp or big deeres To drive one

have a JD1365 and used it on both a Fiat 90-90 and a JD 3140. You wont break any speed records with either, but you will easily manage 4 acres/hour on hilly ground.
Look on the bright side, your mower will last a lot longer than if you were pouring 150 HP down the shaft!

thanks iverjohnston, im looking at the malone 960c 9ft 2300 kg and the keverneland 4328 9ft 1520 kg,looks to me it would easier to pull the kv with my 90 hp none turbo nh.you say 4 ac/hr i would be very happy with 3 ac/hr

I have cut 3 acres an hour with a pz165 and a nuffield 10-60, if you cannot better that with a moco and a tractor 40 years younger, i Will be disappointed!

I would reccomned to check some used mowers.
For me John Deere works better then kuhn, i have 1365 myself.
