I am thinking of buying this laptop and I was just wondering what people think of it? It seems to be a decent price

Well, it isn't the worst deal out there, although 4 GB RAm would be nicer.

However, it appears to be out of stock and it may never come back if Dell is waiting for the 3rd generation of Core i3 processors.

dell seem to be more reliable compared to others.

    Appearance can be deceptive... ;)

    But Dell aren't the worst.

    Thanks for the info :)
Could you recommend me a similar one in terms of price (470 or less) with the same kind of reliability as a dell?

Asus? I never heard of them. Do you have any experience with them? I'd just be wary of reliability? I appreciate the help.

I have 3 ASUS netbooks and had never any problems. According to the statistic above, they are the most reliable of the major players. I hear, their customer service isn't the greatest, but I never had to deal with them so I couldn't tell. Having said that, most others aren't great either, when it comes to consumer products.

How's the battery on them? Similar to dell's?

My ASUS 1005HA netbook has a battery life of 9.5 hrs, but you can't compare that to laptops.

    The ASUS I have linked has a 4 cell (2600mAh, 37 WHrs) battery, your "out-of-stock" Inspiron has a 6-cell (48 WHrs) battery.

Do you see any good ones for under 500? I think there's some good enough ones there.
