I am due to have 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed next week. Problem is I am in constant SEVERE pain, sleep is effected. Nurofen plus and paracetamol are not really helping. If I go to a GP can they prescribe some serious pain killers to help me until the extraction ?? I am at my wits end here, can't deal with this anymore

Your dentist is probably much better than your GP to prescribe painkillers specifically for the type of pain you are in, he/she will have much better knowledge than a gp as to which type of painkiller will most help you

My own dentist was great when I was suffering with pain prescribing painkillers.

Go to your surgeon, that's what you're paying for....
