archlinux+pfsense in virtualbox...

Im trying to set up a wifi Hotspot in my area and from the various linux based applications the only one I could find that looked in any way interesting was wifidog, but that didn't seem to suit what I wanted.

I thought if I used hostapd within ArchLinux and combine that with the ease of PFsense running within two seperate VirtualBox machines this would be what I needed - in theory.

    What I'm using:

Simply one PC and one wireless card (not using a wireless router as the card came with a large external antenna).

    Setup virtualbox #1 - PFSense:
Network interface #1 set to NAT
Network interface #2 set to inet (internal virtualbox networks)
PFSense LAN interface set to 192.168.2.1

    Setup virtualbox #2 - Archlinux:
Network interface #1 (eth0) set to inet and is set static 192.168.2.2
Wireless USB Card connect through virtualbox
    Hostapd installed
    Wireless Tools installed

    Problems:
Hostapd will function on its own and act as an AP when eth0 is set to NAT in Virtualbox settings, but as soon as I try to have pfsense hand over the connection through inet nothing happens, I cant even ping the LAN side of PFSense (192.168.2.1) from Archlinux.

PFSense won't work at all, even with VBox set to NAT on iface#1 and bridged to Host Network Adapter on iface#2 I cannot seem to reach the login portal.

    PFSense test settings:
WAN (pulled through virtualbox NAT setting on iface#1)
LAN set to static ip (as is the physical Host Network Adaptor on in CP within Windows)...when I visit 192.168.1.3 (same range as my physical LAN) nothing happens.

    *pulls hair out*

What are I doing wrong pweeeze?
