Qualified Adult change

I have been a Qualified Adult on my boyfriends claim for JA, for the last few months and he will be going to college in September. Does anyone know can the social welfare just put me as the claimant and him the dependant? Or do I make a fresh claim? :confused: I can't seem to find any info about this. Thanks! :)
