GAA Football Final Tickets, a few Q's.

    Hi all,

We're a bunch of international lads and we'd love to attend the GAA Football Final, but I've got a few Q's. Hope you could help me out.

    1) We're a big group, roughly 20 people. Is there any other option besides 1 guy buying the tickets online in 1 time to assure we can all sit together?
    2) By which time should I buy the tickets, can I safely wait 2 more weeks or should I start gathering the money to buy them?
    3) None of us ever attended a GAA Football game, will this be in our disadvantage? ea do regular attendees get priority because this is such a big game?

    Thanks :)

    Hi
Tickets do not go on general sale, they are distributed through clubs, sponsors, affiliated groups etc.

Ticket for All Ireland Finals are all given out through the Gaa clubs and given to sponsers and to the GAA themselves. As far as I am aware you can not buy tickets online.

Its incredibly hard to get AI final tickets, even for people who regularly attend games. So you could be out of luck here.

Last years final got a completely full house of 82300; Not 1 ticket was unused.

Given that we live in Dublin, if they don't make it to the final I assume our chances of scoring tickets are close to zero? And if they do make it to the final, what website do I keep an eye on to try and score some tickets?

Thanks for the replies so far, very much appreciated :)

Keep an eye on toutless.com or places like that, the GAA do not sell All Ireland tickets through websites, they try to reward grass root supporters as much as possible and make tickets available through their county boards and other support agencies (e.g. Teaching Organisations).

You are a better chance if Dublin are NOT in the final. There will be a higher demand if they are in it [due to bigger population, they bring the biggest supporters].

Regardsless of who gets to the final, it will be hard to get a ticket. Donegal v Mayo would be such a novelty final that both counties would bring a HUGE amount of supporters. Cork is probably the least well supported but even they will bring a big crowd to an AI final.

Sorry to be so negative but its hard to get an AI ticket!

Hi Rhand. If you are around for one of the semi finals, I would recommend going to either if them...will be a lot easier to get tickets and I'd imagine you could get them on tickets.ie for example. The Dublin v Mayo game on September 2nd will have a huge crowd, but won't be sold out I'd think. Next Sunday's semi between Cork and Donegal will have a much smaller crowd, somewhere around 40k I'd say. Both will be good games to go to though.

The final is hard to get tickets for no matter who is playing and if Dublin are playing, it will be pretty much impossible unless you know someone involved in the GAA who is in a very generous mood! I'm from Kerry and heavily involved in the GAA, and last year's final with Dublin was very hard to get tickets for. There is no sale of All Ireland tickets on the web as the lads have said (apart from touts on ebay etc..) and all tickets go through the competing county's and their clubs.

Thanks everybody, we're gonna go with your advice and try to get a ticket for Dublin - Mayo, although we gotta be fast because apparently there's only 1.000 tickets left :)

You could try ringing the Dublin Offices and mention that you are looking for a lot of semi-final tickets and you'd like to be put on a list of people looking for tickets to the final, if you buy your tickets through them they might be able to do something for you for the final.

Depending on who will be in the final, you might find some tickets floating around on the morning outside the Gresham hotel on O' Connell St.You will not get tickets together if you want seated tickets.

As said, it's extremely unlikely you would ever get your hands on 20 All Ireland tickets. The semi-final would be a much better option. I'd book your tickets soon, I say this game will sell out, especially as the hype starts to build next week. You can try tickets.ie or, if you or one of your friends has a bit of time, call into the ticket office on Dorset St during the week. They would be better at ensuring your group manages to get seats together.

I wouldn't go near touts for the football final. The word on the hurling final is usually you can get close to face-value on the day, but the football final is a different animal, no matter who is playing it's invariably a sell-out and sell-outs and touts is a toxic mix.

I'm already working my own angle for tickets, but I don't want jinx it :pac:

The Mayo v Dublin semi-final will be just as good as the final when it comes to atmosphere

There will be 70k odd at it i reckon and the Dubs really do liven the place up.

Try tickets.ie for tickets to it and get them now, no need for unnecessary delay

Cork/Donegal is said to be a cracking game though!

Another question (sorry), which would be the better place to buy a ticket for: Low 311, Low 319 or Upper 711 ?
Never been to a big stadium so I cannot really guess what it is like to watch a game from a certain height.

Sorry but not a hope of getting a block of twenty tickets. If it is a Mayo Donegal final ( The Emigrant Final) it will be impossible but in any case All Ireland Football finals are always sold out. I reckon trying to get to one semi final would be the best bet

I'd go for the lower ones, 311 is not bad and it gives a decent view from that corner.

319 is straight behind the goal

711 even though it gives a good view of the filed may be to high up.

What are the row numbers ?
Lower tier go A to WW and upper go A-Z

Here is a seating chart by the way

311, at least you're not stuck in the corner, although, really, there's no bad seats in Croke Park.

All depends on the rows in these sections you're looking at. For example, the lower rows of the upper tiers are much better than the lower rows of the lower tiers. But I'd agree, there's no really bad seats in Croke Park. Every seat will give you a good view of the game, though some are better than others.
