What's parking in WIT like now for people who need to commute to college?

Also, to piggyback, what time is recommended to arrive in the morning in order to guarantee getting a space?

I'm guessing you abandon all hope by 9:30 :D

Be there before 9, anything later forget about it. Really you're talking 8.45

Still a mess if you want to park near the college. But otherwise you can park down at the Regional Sports Center (RSC) where Waterford United play. There is a bus a few times a day bringing people to the main campus. Its a 5min or so walk otherwise which is grand.

Same can be said for College St Campus.

Clamping in operation on both campuses, parking in nearby estates will get you a fine by the Gardai and a lecturer from residents (Residents Only parking).

f*ck that, it's more like a 10 minute walk from the RSC too. theres loads of parking in ballybeg just over the road or the carpark at honeywell in the industrial estate (2 minute walk). I'v never heard of anyone having any bother parking in either place.

My two cents, if you have class at 9 it's worth leaving early and to get a spot, I like to get there for about 8:40, and there is always a good few. Then pop to the gallery, nice little cuppa while you wake up!

If you have class anytime after that, it's not worth it. Stick with the the Sports place down the road, so much time wasted through the years waiting ( no hoping) someone was going home.

In the evening, if you have a class at the end of the day, like 3/4 it's an ok time to go to the main campus, get all the spots of the students leaving early ;) but it is not a guaranteed.

    Agreed.

As said above get in before 9 and youll have some hope. After that be prepared to drive up and down a lot until you find someone leaving early. Parking is a night mare to be honest

A lad in my class had his bike clamped for parking where he shouldn't :) well more of a chain through the wheel spokes but immobilised all the same.

Where did he park inside the canteen? I cant see the problem parking out of the way, my plan is just by the library between it and the little walk way along side.

Anyone ever hear about the old style lecturer in business i guess about 10 years ago. He was a half mad raging alcoholic he drove up the hallway on his motorbike one day.

Another story was that he was on a " career break" aka they were trying to get rid of him. One of the elcturers turned up to teach her class and found him already in there teaching.

Are you parking up at the tech building/car park behind the AIB bank at the back of the college?

Probably never happened but I know the guy you're talking about. He was a creep of a man.

You'd often see him in the Dome at 11am.

He lost his licence due to drink driving
