    Hey,

I just received word from the college. The TCD system for applications in halls is down and will not be fixed until tomorrow. So anyone still wondering why the website is not letting them apply, this is the reason.

Oh ok, I thought it was because I didn't have a student id number yet.

btw anyone know how long it takes for the college to acknowledge that you've accepted a course there? haven't heard anything besides the cao email confirming that i accepted the offer

Your student ID is your CAO number, just so you know! :)

You probably won't hear from college until they send out orientation packs etc. which could take a couple of weeks if I recall correctly. There's a lot of useful info here.

Not staying at halls myself, but if what I've heard about (bi-sexual fuck fests plus drink and drugs in) I'll be in and out quite often!

Apparently it's been changed this year. There's another Halls/accom thread floating around, and someone there said that CAO numbers aren't being used as student numbers for the first time this year!

    Hey Aoibheann,

They changed the system this year where they send you out your TCD ID number, this is not the same as your CAO number.

Ah you do be hearing a few stories at parties here and there. Could be a load of nonsense, but why not? Seems to make sense, they're hardly in there playing scrabble evenings are they?

What you've heard is extremely exaggerated

What? You mean there won't be parties where every interpretation of your surname is trenchantly examined?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,935 ✭✭✭Anita Blow

There won't be parties. Warden shuts anything down that's too loud. Most you'll get in halls is pre-drinks and even then we were told to leave early if we made any noise.

    That seems unnecessarily complicated

Sounds absolutely pathetic. I had thoughts of me, on cocaine campaign, half blind with ecstasy as I shoot my cum into any butt that points my way, followed up with a massive come down session on the smack.

You can have pretty decent parties, especially if you have a well placed apartment :P But it's not a 9 month long orgy and drug fest.

Considering that less than 5% of the general population are bisexual they must be poorly attended orgies.

Ah you can't even see, you just have a pain in your nutsack and an urge to throttle or snort anything in reach.

That wasn't my concern.I was thinking more about 'unanticipated reciprocal penetration*'

*technical term for 'surprise butt sex'

Everyone's bi at a drugs/sex orgy. I'd talk you into it and before long I'd be hanging out the back of you, pumping away and snorting coke off your shoulder.

I'm not sure how I feel about these recent posts, however they do seem rather biphobic and sexually graphic, surely there's a rule against that? This thread has gone ridiculously off topic, and really not my place to say, buy can a Mod maybe take a look?

By the way, what are the drugs like at these parties? I'm down just to the veins in my thighs and neck at this stage, but I'll still sling smack with the best of them.

Hey does anyone know what day we move into halls? Someone said Friday night and I hope that's not the case that weekend doesn't suit me at all!

It doesn't have to be Friday night! One of my roommates last year came on Sunday! He was coming from Philadelphia though, so you might want to contact the Accoms Office and check for sure!

Yeah I just tried to register using my CAO number and I couldn't, but Trinity haven't contacted me with an ID number or anything so I'm not sure if I just have to wait for that...

You're quite right. 6 people have reported his/her posts in the space of a few hours. Banned from the forum for 3 months.

Your CAO number is not your TCD ID number. The TCD ID number should issue by email to you today. You need your TCD ID number to apply for rooms.

You can move in on a different day if necessary, but it is worth moving in on the right day if you can! There are events on all that weekend, and it's a great few days for meeting people.

A friend of mine moved in on the Saturday instead and it wasn't too bad, but arriving after that weekend means missing the wonderful what's-your-name-where-are-you-from-what-building-do-you-live-in-what-course-do-you-do weekend... And also it does leave you with last dibs on cupboards in the kitchen and shelves in the fridge and stuff like that.
