    Hey guys
I have a query for the techincal guru's.
Mobile home in Spanish Point, can receive Sky and freeview through Satelite.
I cannot receive Saorview, as there are dunes in thw way of the signal. I have been told that if I get an Aeriel Amp, that MAY work, but am getting withered of the difference sales people.
Is there a way I can receive SaorSat off the Freesat Dish? Do I need to but a new box to receive the RTE signal?
If so is there a box that will receive both signals ?

Appreciate anyone that has taken the time to read this and anyone that can give me their thoughts.

How hard have you tried to get Saorview? Do you have an outdoor aerial a decent height above ground? Are you limited to the signal from 1 transmitter?

You won't get Saorsat & Sky/FTA without changes to your dish setup. If you already have a 90-100cm dish (unlikely) you could realign that & add a ka-band lnb to try receiving both on 1 dish.

Failing that, the simplest solution, if you can get away with it, would be a 2nd dish (min. 80cm) to receive Saorsat. Also, you need a non-Sky DVB-S2 receiver, which you may already have.

I have tried everything, the only thing left to do, is raise the aeriel, but if I do that, then it will just get blown away.

It looks like I will have to try and get the Signal Amplifier, if I hace to put up another dish then.
    Thanks a million

Does that include checking the coverage map?

If there is no Saorview signal the masthead aerial amp won't be any good, if there is a weak signal at the aerial the amp could be worth a try.

A relation in Miltown Malbay is experiencing some problem with her recently installed Saorview STB attached to her Mullaghanish aerials, not sure what the exact problem is at the moment but the Saorview coverage checker recommends Cnoc an Oir in north Kerry (different aerial group to Mullaghanish) for that area.

The coverage checker also recommends Cnoc an Oir for Spanish Point so maybe a readjustment of the aerial towards that transmitter or an aerial upgrade to a Group B hi-gain might pull in a better signal.

Ennistymon will have a Saorview transmitter from Oct, not sure if this will provide any coverage in Spanish Point but in any case not much good to you now.
