Radio aerial on mudguard?

Aerial for radio on top of JD 6200 has broken and needs replacement. I did a bit of ripping at top of cab from inside and it is very hard to get to inside fitting...or indeed add another one here. My guess is top of cab may need to come off and that is not a route I want to take. Have any of you ever put an aerial on the…

The roof ain't all that hard to come off,20mins if that at all.Have no idea about an ariel on the mudguard but wouldn't expect great things from it.
