    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a laptop from a shop around Dublin. Can someone recommend a shop that is doing deals or looks value.

Most of the recommendations here are for on line sites, but I'm buying from a shop as I have one for all vouchers.

    Looking to spend 500-600 euro

    Thanks

Yes, but you will have to choose the option to buy a "Virtual VISA Card" which involves a fee of 7 Euro.

Care to elaborate on your requirements? If you don't need a dedicated graphics card for gaming or 3D rendering, a Core i5 laptop should be within your budget.

This 15.6" HP with a 2nd generation Core i5-2450M, 6 GB RAM and a 750 GB HDD for €515 at Argos is a pretty good deal.

The Core i5-2450M with Turbo Boost is still a very good processor and if you don't need dedicated graphics, just go for it, the price is more than right.

Forgot to say I would like a 17 inch screen! All above seem to be 15 approx?

That will be difficult to advice something from a shop based on your budget to be honest.

How do you feel about a Dell ?

    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor

    17" Notebooks € 60 off All 17" Notebooks

A few quid over the budget but this looks very decent to be frank.

I couldn't find any decent deal on bigger machines in brick&mortar stores unfortunately.

17.3" HP with the same specs as the 15.6" above, except it comes with a 2nd gen. Core i3-2450M, price €529 at Argos.

If you buy a "Virtual Visa Card", there is a 17.3" Acer with the latest Core i5-3210M at Komplett for €599.
