PRSI proposed increase

So having kicked the arse out of the "Universal Charge", this bunch of no-hopers in Leinster House have now turned their attentions back to the PRSI.
Before they go increasing taxes again using this surreptitious manner, could they please explain just WHAT we get out of PRSI contrbutions ?
I am planning to be employed for as long as I can towards my retirement, and have accepted lower salaries in order to do so, so as far as Welfare Benefits go, nil points there.
So when I go to the Doctor, I am barely inside the door before being relieved of the €65 entrance fee, followed by expensive drugs which have no subsidy, so again, NIL points. If I am injured I would need to have Private Health cover to ensure any level of comfort/service so still struggling to find any reason for paying this - ah, forgot - PENSION !!!
Since we have already been told that this corrupt administration has used a huge amount of the State Pension Fund to finance their old buddies in the Banking and Developer growth industries (err sorry - isn't that technically theft ??), and that the reason for this PRSI increase is because as a result, there is not enough kitty money to provide for all, ultimately, I am now paying twice to provide a pension which apart from being one of the lowest in an EU country, will probably be swallowed up by the EU debt which we are indebted for the duration of our own, our children and our children's children to erm - oh yes the Bankers and Developers.
So back to the original question - why DO we pay PRSI ?

It all goes into an exchequer fund really and is rarely allocated towards something specific like state Pension, Child Benefit or Unemployment. It's all one big pot of tax takings at the end of the day. They'll increase PRSI to continue to say to other nations that we're an attractive low tax economy for investment by keeping the tax bands at 20% and 41%.

I wouldn't be too bothered if they increased PRSI from 1% if they did likewise for employers PRSI, we'll see. It might not stop at PRSI this time.

Such fuss in the media. It would be much more cost effective to increase PRSI/USC than start collecting properity taxes and water rates.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

Sorry but this isn't the place to have a rant about the Government.
