hello everyone. i completed a fetac level 5 course last year and have been offered a place in a WIT level 8 business course. I'm just looking for some information on the €2000 euro fees at the start of the academic year. I have a medical card and i was just wondering do i get any money off this fee due to my medical card? Honestly dont think i can afford it. me nor my parents. any help is much appreciated thanks.

Did you apply for a grant? You should get on that ASAP.

You probably do qualify for one, so that would pay your fees.

Im sure you would be able to.let the college know in enrollment day that youre waiting for your grant letter. You wont be the only one in that boat!!

Apply for the grant at www.studentfinance.ie

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You will not receive a maintenance grant if you are in receipt of BTE.

You will need to make an application for your registration fee. it's through the centralised grant authority from now on.

    https://www.grantsonline.ie/

If you are still living at home the application is based on your parents income (based on earnings in 2011). If you are over 23 and living independently you will be assessed on your own income.

This is an area that can become messy for many prospective students.....

You will need to prove you have been living independently for the last year (your application takes into account what you were doing and where you were last year).

If you can prove this, using a bill in your own name etc you should be fine. You may be required to get a letter from your parents stating they are not supporting you.

You still get assessed on your parents income unless you are irreconcilably estranged from your parents
