Did this 10k yesterday thro' Curraghchase Forest Park.
    Nice scenic run...and well marshalled.

Did nt get much training in the week before & I found this one quite a difficult 10k in terms of hills and gradients.
Was quite humid too and ended up having to walk a part of it which was a first for me after doing over 15+ 10k's before over last 2 years.

Anyone else find this one a bit tricky? or was my lack of training and weather!?

I ran this one on Sunday as well. I only started running this year and have only attended a few organized runs, with this one being my first 10k so I'm probably not qualified to comment too much.
I too thought the track was tough when it came to the hills around the 6-8k mark in particular. I certainly had to slow to walking pace for a few hundred meters (a couple of times actually). I thought we were lucky with the weather though, certainly better than if it was chuckin' it down like we've had the past few weeks.

I thought the track layout and the marshaling was excellent. And I know it was a fund raising event but I did feel the advertised "race packs" were a bit on the stingy side... maybe I've been spoiled on the other runs I've attended this summer?

I ran this one on Sunday as well. For a first time event it had many positives. It was well marshalled. The car parking was ample and the registration was very smooth. I was too late for a t-shirt but they looked nice and seemed to be of good quality.
A few gripes I had were ; water in cups  For E20 you'd expect small bottles to be given out. The course by my Garmin was a tad short. It came in at 6.09km. I know they advertised the race starting from the community hall and continuing onto the main road and then into the entrance of park when in fact it started at the entrance itself. I'm assuming this was done for safety reasons and I guess this meant they were short the 100 or so metres. That distance can easily be made up in the park itself I reckon for future races.
There was a few other things but there's no such thing as a perfect race and as I said for a first time event.
As the previous posters have said it was quite a hilly course but it was a good workout none the less.
I'll definitely give it a run again next year.

I know one of the organisers of the event and he welcomes any feedback on it via their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Curraghchase10kRunWalk

Yes, I'd definetly do again next year....would need to do a bit more hill training for sure leading upto it.

Welldone to organisers all the same, an enjoyable Sunday run.

I completed this run on Sunday and have run a good few 10k's before. I thought it was well organised and well marshalled.
It was a good course and there were a few tough hills in the middle. Offered a good challenge but I did have to walk up one of them which was disappointing.More hill training needed!

I would agree that small bottles of water would be preferable to the cups as it isn't easy to drink from those while running. Queues at ladies toilets which i don't think can be avoided - it’s a problem at lots of races.

I also had GPS but mine came to 6.21 which is spot on. I think all the markers along the way were spot on as well. I don't think it was short.

Overall well done Kilcornan. Look forward to it next year.

Am doing it for work as they are doing a bit of fundraising so free entry :-) haven't decided what to way to run it yet, will see on the morning I'd say. First 3-5k at PB pace and then either push or back off, depending how the legs feel maybe. Looks like a good 10k anyway, feedback has been ok previously!

Did this on sunday,my first 10k,seemed very well marshalled and plenty of bottled water this time,a few seasoned campaigners say its a tough course so to finish it in under an hour would be good id say, well done to all involved.
