CityGate Bus Services after re-organization

    Hi all

Checked and could not find a thread to cover this.

Pretty sure the buses which either go to, or past (5 min walk according to my sources) Citygate since re-org are 2, 15 and 19.

I am looking to move to Cork and have been told the following areas would be suitable but I have conflicting views as to the bus availability at these places. From the map, it looks like the only suitable would be north or east Douglas, but an estate agent has just told me that both Blackrock, Douglas and Ballinlough and Rochestown are also on one of these routes.

    Can anyone confirm/deny please >

Areas I am looking at are :-

    Rochestown
    Douglas
    Blackrock
    Ballinlough
    Carrigaline

I am looking for a quiet (non-family) area with high-speed broadband (ideally UPC).

    Thanks to all who reply

The journey planner should be of assistance

I've no personal knowledge of Cork though sorry.

Thanks for that - may come in very handy for more national journeys but really was looking for local knowledge here.

It covers all the local bus services in cork.

    Missed that but thanks !!

For those interested the new 215 actually starts at Jacobs Island and goes via Citygate to Cork City - that'll do for me !!

The 202, 215 ( previously the 210) and 219 serve the general area, but Cork bus services are being restructured at the moment.

If you are relying on buses, nothing else is of much use and living in Rochestown or Carrigaline wouldn't be much use. Parts of Rochestown might be practical for walking or cycling though
