Nothing happening when I tried to start my car this morning. Not even swinging and no dashboard display. Not sure what it could be. Anybody got any ideas? Will be calling my mechanic later about it anyway...

    no lights on dashboard?

    Could be just a fuse

Just jumpstart it. Dont waste your money on getting a mechanic.

Put her in second gear while holding the clutch in. Also hold key turned to start . Release clutch then key while being pushed or rolling downhill.

You probably just left a light on.

Push starting won't work if the battery's completely dead.

Can't jump starting do damage to the car's cat converter? Better off getting a friend or neighbour with jump leads or battery booster to get it started.

Jump starting is using a second battery, push starting is using the car's momentum to turn the engine over. :)

I'll try jump starting later. It's strange because it's a new battery. Only in the car for about 3 months...

Did you mess around with the car stereo recently? Maybe you set the display to always on or something simple like that.

No. Didn't change anything. Might just have been left on...
