Men's Fashion Advice

    Hi all,

Is there anything out there that can recommend fashion tips for men.

For example, I seem to know an awful lot about pear shaped women v apple shaped women. I know quite a bit about accessorising. I know how a wide belt can help help some women when a narrow belt can help others. I know that tall women should choose different clothes than smaller women - but I'm not a women.

    Are there any guides?

I wear clothes from penny's cos I'm scared of clothes shops and never know what suits me. I know I don't fit into anything from River Island, I don't like Ordinary Boys style and I'm definitely not a model - particularly my figure. And when I google the above question there's a lot on well cut suits - which I know looks good but not for the pub or going into town on a Saturday.

I just want to know what colours suit, what style suits and know what to choose when I see. It's all about the confidence and I don't have it.

    I want a female Gok!!!

    Help.

Oh, I don't like those canvas shoes - I found out yesterday that they were called 'Vans'. And I am keen to keep my arse in my jeans! Am I beyond help?

You could try looking at some of the male style blogs like gq.com, thestyleblogger.com, fashionbbeans.com, esquire, the style primer, the effortless gent etc. (sorry i'm on my phone so can't get links). Some of the articles can be a bit up themselves (particularly fashion beans) but if you read around you'll see posts about dressing for your shape (I know the style blogger has a whole series of them for guys) and situation- suits, casual, etc.

Keep it simple OP. It's not hard for a man to dress well.

Invest in a couple of good pair of jeans, nice pair of casual shoes ,a few polo shirts and a casual jacket.

There is a classic casual look that looks well on a man of any age/size.

I'm not sure what your budget is but if you have some disposable cash buy some of the more expensive brands and not Pennys gear if you want to look well.

Also, don't worry about clothes shops. The people who work there and used to all shapes/sizes and will be able to give advice to you when you try clothes on.
