Gas boiler noise

    Hi,

Recently my gas boiler has started making a weird noise, but only when it's burning gas, there is a squealing, vibrating noise issuing from it, as soon as it stops burning, the noise squeals to a stop, I'd liken the noise to a squealing fan belt in a car. The boiler appears to be working otherwise, the watr pump noises sound normal, I'm not getting any smell of gas, etc. just wondering should I sacrifice my hot water until I get a serviceman out?

sounds like either the fan, or if when it starts is more like a hissing of a kettle, then most likely the heatexchanger.

If it is the fan, it may require replacing, go ahead and use it (if not too loud) as once it fails completely the boiler will stop working (lockout)

But looks like you will need someone to look at it alright.

Which boiler make model is it?
