Very good in that there is littl wastage and crows don't seem to like them, however ensure your birds are used to them from poults to make sure they know what they are at. I have 2 barrells in a pen one with a wright feeder the other has a pan feeder and that tends to be my set up in the fields too.

Been using them for 3 years now, no problems. As CS says, make sure the poults are used to them. They cut feed costs by about 20%. Less prone to clogging than springs and they should last a lot longer, there's nothing to wear out.

I put one into my pen, but the lads are telling me the wheat is pouring straight through the wright feeder. how did you fit yours to the barrel, i drilled a hole and put the feeder through the hole. just wondering should they be screwed to the bottom of the barell. thanks

springs only clog if you are using scrapings of spilled grain off the floor

Wright feeders are much better than springs. No bother with them clogging .I have used everything from grower pellets, wheat even kibbled maize without any trouble. Just cut a 76 mm hole in bottom barrel and drop it straight in. Finished job

Using clean wheat a good Spring is the only job.
Found those feeders to be wasteful enough. The flange could be wider & pre drilled with 2 holes to fix it.
MacEoin has the only job for feeding pellets - the galvanized step feeder. I was getting cleaned out by starlings til I got one. The weight of a pheasant opens the tray & when the weight is off the feed is not accessible.

Much better than springs. Deer and badgers can,t feed off them as easily. They dont clog. Waste is reduced. I would go along with what someone else said that it saves about 20% of my wheat

wright feeders are a high output feeder , used on a lot of shoots where they are feeding thousands of birds , as ep says if you use good clean grain a spring is your only man , fitted with a badger bar you can adjust the flow rate from the spring , you can buy threaded bar that will go through the spring in B&Q and with a couple of wing nuts make your own for a few quid thats what i do . :D:D
