    Hi all

Hope somebody might have answer, I know after you do accounts technician course you can go straight into year 3 of the business and accounting degree in tallaght. But do other colleges left you go into year 2 or above in one of their courses.

Also Is having a degree from it looked down upon compared to a university. Which will give me best chance of a job, wiling to give up a year if overall it looks better in the long term.

I will more then likely go on to do the acca exams but I really would like a degree incase I decide accounting is not for me

    Hi

If you are continuing on to do ACA, you may want to look at what exemptions you will get / lose out on if you jump straight into yr 3. IATI will not give you Corporate Finance or Management Accounting in CAP 1.

I'm a little confused, So if i jump into year 3 (Accounting Degree) i will not get all the exemptions as people who have being there since the beginning and I would lose out on my exemptions from the Iati

Your IATI exemptions are still valid. You just may not get the remaining exemptions required to be fully exempt from CAP 1 by entering yr 3 .

IATI will not give exemptions for MgT Accounting or Finance. You need to complete a yr 2 & 3 module in Tallaght to gain the exemption for Mgt Accounting .

Maybe you should call the Chartered Institute to check if you advanced entry into the course qualifies you for the exemption with them to.

Hope this is a little clearer.

Oh and you could just take the exam as an external with ACA. To gain the full CAP 1 exemption
